Tornado Warning (Includes Nashville)

This storm has a history. Don't worry about it being confirmed in this or that place, just take shelter and gather more information from a safe place.

3 AM - People upstream in places like Hendersonville, Mount Juliet, anywhere within this polygon, in the path, take shelter. Because this storm is racing along very fast.

Looks like it's moving through the Southern part of Nashville or just South, but let's not try to be too specific at night, when this is so close to the radar. Always a margin for error. Just stay sheltered anywhere in the path of this storm with a history of producing a tornado.

All the way up to Gallatin, at the edge of the polygon, I'd go ahead and go through your tornado safety plan. If you know anybody in the path who is not awake, give them a call.

3:03 - You can't really see the rotation now, but that's because it's getting so close to the radar site.

Nobody should be trying to drive in these areas. Stop and pull over to the next building you can get into. You never want to be caught in a car during a tornado, or a storm this severe.

3:07 - Still watching several storms in a broken squall line behind this supercell. One of them near Decaturville produced a significant tornado crossing the MS/TN state line earlier.

3:11 - All the way up to Gallatin and Lebanon, anywhere in this polygon, I'd stay sheltered. This is so close to the radar site, better safe than sorry.

3:14 - And the fun never ends tonight. Got a Flash Flood Warning that includes Nashville too.

Broadcast media (WKRN-2) also reports that there has been a wall cloud sighted with this tornado-warned storm.

3:17 - And here's an update on that polygon.

3:19 - News Channel 5 is also reporting that wall cloud. Not seeing that from the National Weather Service, but with two news channels reporting on it, considering this overall situation, I don't doubt it.

3:23 - And now that other storm with a history of producing a tornado is coming up on Linden and moving Northeast. So this is taking a similar track to the other supercell.

Folks between Linden and Centerville, be back in your shelter.

3:25 - Tornado Warning remains in effect for Sumner and Wilson Counties, Davidson County is out.

Though it's worth noting that now Nashville is under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-sized hail.

3:27 - And that tornado warning was just extended NE all the way to the Kentucky state line. Includes Gallatin, Lebanon, Hartsville, and Lafayette.

3:29 - Here's a good look at more communities within that polygon.

3:31 - And it has just turned into a rowdy night for Tennessee.
