Take this warning seriously as this is in a very favorable environment for a tornado. And we're seeing that rotation on radar now with this storm.
12:37 AM - The rest of these storms that are covered by Severe Thunderstorm Warnings are still capable of dangerous wind gusts. But this one is worth taking extra seriously because it may be producing a tornado. If you know somebody in the path, give them a call. Need to get into a small interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy house, not a mobile home. And if possible, cover body in case of debris, especially protect your head.
12:43 - Ethridge, Henryville, and Summertown are in the path of this possible tornado. Arrival time for Summertown is about 1:05 AM per NWS Huntsville's latest update.
Looks like this will track North of Lawrenceburg after all. They have adjusted the warning polygon as the track has shifted to the North.
It's in an unfortunate spot as far as radar coverage at the moment, but it is still showing rotation.
12:50 - That area around Waterloo in far Western Lauderdale County has been upgraded from just a weather statement to a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for roughly the next hour, 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-sized hail possible.
12:53 - The tornado warning continues as the storm moves through Northern Lawrence County for about the next 20 minutes.
12:58 - Chelsea Aaron has a good live stream going. Was watching Matt Laubhan earlier but forgot to grab the link.
1 AM - Wayne, Lawrence, and Giles Counties (as well as Maury and Lewis counties further to the North in TN) have been blanketed with a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for now.
The Tornado Warning is cancelled for Wayne County since the storm is out of there. The rotation is broad now, but the warning continues for Northern Lawrence County, clips Southeastern Lewis County, goes about 10 more minutes.
1:16 - This warning has been allowed to expire. The rotation broadened out and then dissipated.
1:23 - And it took forever to get a radar image to load. But here it is.
1:24 - Report from Maury County, TN near Mount Pleasant: Emergency management reports Cross Bridges Road impassable due to storm damage. Electrical poles and trees down and damage to structures. This area was under a Tornado Warning earlier.
1:29 - Lincoln and Moore Counties in TN are now under a Special Weather Statement for a storm that could produce wind gusts up to 55 mph. It includes the city of Fayetteville. This is expected to stay just under severe limits.
1:33 - And the NWS Birmingham is sending up one of those special radiosonde balloon launches. To better assess the atmosphere here in the graveyard shift hours.
1:41 - Got a new severe thunderstorm warning that includes Pulaski, TN.
1:47 - Meanwhile the severe thunderstorm warnings for Lauderdale, Wayne, and Lawrence (TN) counties have been allowed to expire on time.
