This storm has produced tornadoes already in MS.
2:53 AM - All right, and now we have a Tornado Warning for Southern Franklin County, for places like Belgreen, Vina, and Hodges.
Actually I see the two were issued about the same time, but they came out as separate warnings because the northernmost warning is issued by Huntsville, the one for Marion County was issued by Birmingham.
Anybody in either location needs to get into a small interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy house (not a mobile home), away from windows. And cover yourself up, especially protect your head.
But these warnings are both for the same storm, a long-lived supercell that initialized over West-Central Mississippi and has produced several tornadoes back that way. Supercells tend to cycle up and down. This could put down another tornado and produce damage at any moment.
2:58 AM - James Spann has a live stream going, and so does Brad Travis.
3:18 AM - The Tornado Warning for Marion County is being replaced by a Severe Thunderstorm Warning.
3:21 - The warning for Franklin County is also cancelled and being replaced by a Severe Thunderstorm Warning.
And there are Special Weather Statements that include much of Lamar County and places like Fayette and Glen Allen.
Going to make a new post for the severe thunderstorm warnings.
