Forecast Summary

I think the last detailed forecast still holds up pretty well.

But the severe weather threat has ended for tonight.

It will become sunny tomorrow with a Northwest breeze and a High near 67.

Staying sunny on Tuesday with a High of about 75, Low in the lower 40's.

Staying sunny Wednesday and Thursday as well with a High near 70, Low in the 40's.

Still mostly sunny on Friday with a High in the upper 70's.

Saturday night and Sunday we could see scattered to numerous thunderstorms coming back into the picture, Highs in upper 70's both days, Lows in the 50's.

This turned out to be one of the lower-end severe weather events we've seen in a while. Had a couple trees down and a couple reports of large hail up to golfball size in Northwest Alabama. The only tornado report was back in Rolling Fork, MS, a place that got hit by an F-4 tornado a couple years ago. But the one this evening was a relatively weaker, short-lived tornado, confirmed by spotters though. Have not heard of any injuries from tonight's storms. Even though lightning did set a house on fire in Garden City.

And now before I finished writing this we had a power pole down on a county road in Colony, County Road 25. So we did have some rough weather locally in Cullman County. Also heard Coyote J. from WJLX 101.5 FM say that as the storms rolled through Jasper, they got knocked off the air for a while. He ended his show with some atmospheric music from Yenpox that goes well with a rainy, thundery night.

Anyway, wishing everyone a pleasant week.
