Monday looks sunny with a High near 60, Low in the lower 30's. And we'll still be breezy, winds out of the North behind this front.
Tuesday we stay sunny with the High more like 70 or so, Low in about the mid-30's.
Wednesday we'll see a High of about 70 or so, Low in mid-40's. Mix of sun and clouds with probably most the day staying dry but then numerous showers possible at night.
Thursday looks sunny and turning sharply colder, High in mid-50's, Low in upper 30's.
Friday looks sunny with a High in the lower 60's, Low in the lower 30's.
Then next Saturday a mix of sun and clouds, minimal chance of an isolated shower, High near 70, Low in lower 70's.
And good grief, what a day. We've seen worse, but this was pretty rough. All we've got in North Alabama into Tennessee now is some rain and gusty winds, no more severe weather threat beyond flash flooding still going on in those green polygons you see.
A major tornado is moving into the city of Clanton down in South Central Alabama. This event has been rough for a lot of people.
We'll have some more peaceful days coming up to sift through reports and check out the damage surveys that NWS personnel work so hard to do, and do right. But for now you can look at the maps above and realize that yesterday and today were a fairly significant severe weather event. There were not as many reports today, but a lot of the ones that happened, especially tornadoes, had pretty significant impacts. And some of it is still going on, far South of the area this blog is meant to cover.
If you're in the area this blog does cover, you can go on to bed or enjoy the rest of your Saturday night. Wishing everybody well at the end of a long day.
