* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.


* WHERE...Portions of Alabama, including the following counties,

  Jackson, Limestone and Madison and southern middle Tennessee,

  including the following counties, Franklin TN, Lincoln and Moore.


* WHEN...Until 900 PM CST.


* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying

  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.


* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 643 PM CST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to

    thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin

    shortly in the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain

    have fallen.

  - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are possible

    in the warned area.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    Huntsville, Decatur, Madison, Athens, Scottsboro, Winchester,

    Fayetteville, Bridgeport, Moores Mill, Meridianville,

    Lynchburg, Redstone Arsenal, Hazel Green, Decherd, Estill

    Springs, Stevenson, Cowan, Owens Cross Roads, Ardmore and

    Hollywood.

* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall

  continues.


* WHERE...Portions of north central and northwest Alabama, including

  the following counties, in north central Alabama, Cullman,

  Limestone and Morgan. In northwest Alabama, Colbert, Franklin AL,

  Lauderdale and Lawrence.


* WHEN...Until 900 PM CST.


* IMPACTS...Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not

  be passable.


* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 510 PM CST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges

    indicated heavy rainfall has of 2 to 3 inches of rainfall has

    fallen over the warned area. Flooding is ongoing in portions

    of the warned area. Emergency management officials have

    reported road closings in portions of Lauderdale county.

  - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in

    the warned area.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    Decatur, Florence, Athens, Hartselle, Muscle Shoals,

    Russellville, Sheffield, Tuscumbia, Moulton, Red Bay,

    Priceville, Trinity, Falkville, Rogersville, Phil Campbell,

    Killen, Town Creek, Cherokee, Littleville and Lexington.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.


* WHERE...South Chickamauga Creek near Chickamauga TN.


* WHEN...From late Wednesday night to early Friday afternoon.


* IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, Water begins to cross Mack Smith Road in

  Catoosa County, Georgia. Flooding begins at golf courses near the

  confluence of South and West Chickamauga Creeks. West Chickamauga

  Creek begins to overflow its banks, as well.

  At 19.0 feet, Water across Mack Smith Road begins to impede

  traffic. West Chickamauga Creek overflows its banks near the

  Georgia state line and inundates several roads and properties in

  the area.

  At 20.0 feet, Mack Smith Road is closed. Water crosses Lovell

  Field Loop, the access road around the north end of the airport

  runway.

  At 21.0 feet, Mack Smith Road and Lovell Field Loop become

  impassable. Water begins to come onto Airport Road, just north of

  the terminal complex. West Chickamauga Creek increases to near a

  half mile wide in places, becoming hazardous to adjacent travel in

  East Ridge.


* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 8:15 AM EST Tuesday the stage was 4.7 feet.

  - Bankfull stage is 18.0 feet.

  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage

    early Thursday morning to a crest of 20.5 feet Thursday

    evening. It will then fall below flood stage Friday morning.

  - Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
