2:42 AM - For some reason, it took Birmingham a little longer to get theirs out than other local offices, so that's the reason for the awkward editing here of shoe-horning in the text and graphics including counties like Winston and Walker after having made the post originally and trying to gather everyone at one time. 

The local offices do agree on the basics. We have a winter storm brewing for Friday in North Alabama and Southern Middle Tennessee, with significant snowfall accumulations possible for many of us. 

The Birmingham office serving Walker, Winston, Blount, Fayette, etc. does note - and I think they're right to - that some of it may mix with sleet and freezing rain. The NAM was showing that messy setup yesterday, at least for counties that are on the borderline of what you'd call North Alabama versus Central Alabama. Any ice accumulation presents a little different situation than if it was all snow. So be aware of that too.
