Hurricane Milton Update

Looks like this has actually issued around the time I was posting the last update, but for some reason was not showing up in my browser until later. It came and went, and now it is back. So I'm posting it.

This thing already has winds of 150 mph. That is a very significant hurricane. Even people along the Northern Yucatan Peninsula want to take this seriously while it grazes them. Before it reaches Florida, it will encounter some vertical wind shear, so the intensity may fluctuate up and down. It does have that wind shear that could weaken it at times, but it also has historic-level warm Gulf waters that allow for rapid intensification like we've seen here. Regardless of its exact strength at the time of landfall, I think it is a safe bet that this will be a major hurricane when it hits the Florida Peninsula tomorrow night or Wednesday morning, capable of significant damage, and very much a threat to life.
