1:37 AM - Here's an update on the storm.
They definitely aren't kidding about the lightning. The hail and gusty winds are thought to be under severe limits though. Warnings are not issued based on how bad the lightning is in a storm. As one forecaster put it in a Skywarn class, they'd run us crazy if they did that.

At 104 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Helicon, or near Arley, moving east at 30 mph.
HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and nickel size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Cullman, Good Hope, Falkville, Baldwin, Vinemont, West Point, Phelan,
Lacon, Logan and Crane Hill.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
