Severe T-Storm Warning

4:18 PM - This southern storm affects places like Waterloo and Cloverdale.

Remember we also have a storm in Tennessee moving out of Northern Lawrence County up toward Mount Pleasant. So the warning there goes until 4:45 and includes Lewis and Maury Counties.

4:25 - That storm as it came through Waynesboro was verified by a school bus driver as having quarter-sized hail, relayed by local emergency management.

Other parts of this suqall line are thought to have thunderstorms that are strong but below severe limits, at least for now.

4:32 - And now this warning for Colbert and Lauderdale Counties is cancelled as the storm has weakened below severe limits. Gusty winds and small hail may still happen in this general area as storms continue to blow through.

4:39 - Damage reported in Summertown, Tennessee (Lawrence County) from the storms earlier, several trees down on Sweet Gum Lane, and also a roof blown off of a house.

Overall this line is producing thunderstorms with strong winds and some hail but under severe limits for now. If you do get a warning though, that is a reminder to take it seriously.

5:09 PM - Special weather statement extended now over to places like Decatur and Athens. Letting you know that the gusty winds in these storms could break tree limbs or do other minor damage to outdoor items but are below severe limits.

5:11 - Ditto for places like Haleyville and Double Springs. National Weather Service in Huntsville notes a gust of 46 mph winds in Muscle Shoals and that they are getting reports of pea to dime-sized hail with these storms.

5:22 - And the squall line progresses through the area with no storms showing signs of being severe at this point, just some smaller hail and gusty winds.

5:46 - Going to make separate post for the new Special Weather Statement.
